SingTel to bring 3G iPhone to S'pore by year-end
The 3G phone will probably cost half the price of the original.

SingTel announced on Tuesday that it will be the first operator here to launch the new version, which is faster and boasts more features, but said it would only be on the shelves 'later this year'.

The delay in bringing the new iPhone here is 'probably due to Singapore's size, said analyst Nathan Burley of consulting firm Ovum. But he reckons that Singaporeans should not have to wait "too long after' July 11.

SingTel did not say how much it will cost but Mr Burley believes it would be near the US price of US$199 ($270) after operator discounts.

According to The Straits Times report.
